Grammar Reference
*안 + verb : don’t
ex)안 할게 : 안(not) + 할게(will do)
못/안 are used in the negative expression. 못 + verb = can’t, 안 + verb = don’t
*Verb stem + ~자 : let’s, shall we
ex)떠나자 : 떠나다(leave, go) + ~자(let’s)
Verb + ㅂ/읍시다 : more formal expression than ~자
*Noun + ~(으)로 : to, into, with
ex)바다로 : 바다(sea) + 로(to)
으로 for nouns ending in a consonant, 로 for nouns ending in a vowel.
*Noun + ~은/는 : noun + topic particle
ex)난 : 나(I) + 는(topic particle)
은 for nouns ending in a consonant, 는 for nouns ending in a vowel.
*Adjective[verb] stem + ㄴ/은/는/을 + noun : noun that adjective[verb]
ex)물어온 질문 : 물어온(물어오다(ask) + ㄴ(noun modifier)) + 질문(question)
차가워진 표정 : 차가워진(차가워지다(become cold) + ㄴ(noun modifier)) + 표정(expression)
푸른 바다 : 푸른(푸르다(to be blue) + ㄴ(noun modifier)) + 바다(sea)
ㄴ/은/는/을 is added to verbs and adjectives to allow them to function as noun modifiers
